In homes, schools, buildings, skyscrapers and on sidewalks, fences, and underpasses have you ever noticed those secret pathways? In old buildings near creaky attics or baseboard exposed basements have you noticed that small door entrance that leads into a cubby hole or folds down unveiling a long staircase? Or. All that is revealed is that the strange wall protrusion is unmoving, nailed shut, painted over, caulked, riveted, bolted, and closed! “Don’t worry”, just Forget about it! It’s just some ‘thing’ “you know” could be electrical or a heating apparatus or behind it is just another wall. Possibly, probably flat brick or a wooden board. Or. Maybe If only you just broke that brick wall, crowbarred that wooden painted hinge that could reveal beyond… a door, closet, or an entrance. Subterranean possibilities, beneath entire cities, in a home there could be a secret pathway cut straight into the hollow drywall, down the narrow gaps of the bricks and pipes snaking ladders leading down to bedrock, support beams holding up soddy tunnel roofs, long damp corridors, and hidden jutting exits.

The audio piece created for the installation is a composition created with various field recordings reverberated and muffled. Incorporated into the soundscape is a three-stringed guitar plucking as if following the creaking floorboards, tap dripping recorded beneath my bathroom sink, and animal calls from my bedroom window.
